Project Engineer

Job Functions:

Communication internally and externally with both the customer and supplier base.
Identify and relay issues and exceptions to management.
Work with suppliers to obtain proposed engineering solutions.
Review and analyze part models and their potential packaging solutions.
Provide meeting notices to core team members.
Document meeting discussion, decisions, and outstanding issues. Distribute meeting minutes.
Review actual packaged parts and packaging materials including on-site at the supplier facilities.
Review changes and/or new proposals with core team members.
Manage change timing working with the internal and external stakeholders.
Provide complete and accurate tracking on the current status for all work-in-progress.


Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a project engineer, with automotive manufacturing experience a must. Experience in the automotive material handling/packaging industry is preferred.
Working knowledge of Management Information Systems.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Professional and effective written and oral communication skills.
Follow-up and good interface skills.
Ability to multi-task, switching between multiple projects over the course of a work day.
Up to 50% local travel (Metro Detroit), must have vehicle

Additionally:

Applicant must have a valid passport and the ability to attend meetings in person at customer locations in Windsor Ontario area.
All applicants who are offered a position will need to have a physical and be tested for drugs as part of the post job offer employment screening process.

Salary: $65,000-75,000 per year.
